Jeffrey Lewis Announces 'A Turn in the Dream-Song,' Gets Members of the Vaselines, Au Revoir Simone to Guest

Whether he's covering punk anarchists Crass, giving his songs cumbersome and hilarious titles, or teaming up with Kimya Dawson and Karl Blau, we can always count on New York songwriter Jeffrey Lewis to give his folk tunes an unconventional twist. We'll soon learn what quirky new things he has cooked up when he releases his latest album, A Turn in the Dream-Song, on October 11 via Rough Trade.

The record features an impressive cast of collaborators including members of Dr. Dog, the Vaselines, Au Revoir Simone, the Wave Pictures, Johnny Flynn & the Sussex Wit, Misty's Big Adventure and Schwervon. The tracks were recorded on two-inch tape at the vintage studio Analogue Catalogue in Manchester, UK. Lewis will be touring Europe and China prior to the record release.

Lewis also added this note via his website: "This year I decided I'd finally start getting table-space for me & my comic books at all the indie comic book fests, like MoCCA in New York City, Stumptown in Portland, OR, TCAF in Toronto, and MeCAF in Portland, ME -- but I didn't realize how fast the tables sell out at all these things! If anybody has table-space they'd be willing to share with me at any of the upcoming fests, I'd gladly share the cost."

You heard the man -- if you happen to be in Toronto and have a hookup with a table at TCAF, help him out and get him a spot.
