'Made in America' (trailer)

Jay Z
Last year, we learned that director Ron Howard was chronicling the inaugural Made in America festival for an upcoming documentary, and the music film will now officially gets its premiere on September 7 at the Toronto International Film Festival. Ahead of the screening, you can check out a trailer for the film.

The trailer gathers performers like Jay Z, Pearl Jam, Dirty Projectors and more, both via live clips and interview footage talking about uniting in times of adversity. "This is brilliant, that you've got Run DMC and Pearl Jam — pop, rock, hip-hop all on the same stage," rapper Darryl "DMC" McDaniels says. "Because music succeeds where politics and religion failed."

You can see the preview footage down below.

In addition to its run at TIFF, Made in America will receive its U.S. television premiere October 11 on Showtime.

The second annual Made in America festival takes place this weekend at Philadelphia's Benjamin Franklin Parkway and will feature sets from Beyoncé, Nine Inch Nails, A$AP Rocky, Phoenix, Queens of the Stone Age, AlunaGeorge, HAIM, Miguel, and Kendrick Lamar with his Black Hippy pals Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and Jay Rock.
