Javelin Announce 'Hi Beams' LP, North American Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 10, 2013

U.S. electronic duo Javelin have announced their return via news of an album called Hi Beams. The group's label Luaka Bop will have the LP at retailers March 5.

A press release for the troupe's next set, which follows their 2011 Western-inspired Canyon Candy EP, explains that this time around, members George Langford and Tom Van Buskirk headed to a proper studio to track their tunes. While previous releases were tweaked in home studios and on computers, the duo apparently employed "proper microphones, a vintage mixing desk, an array of amplifiers, real plate reverb" when they recorded and mixed Hi Beams at Pawtucket, RI studio Machine with Magnets.

As for the music, the LP was reportedly "made to be performed in concert," and finds lyrics and vocal harmonies pushed to the foreground. You can sample album track "Nnormal" in the widget below, and nab it for the price of an email.
