Jamiroquai's "Virtual Insanity" Turned into Videogame

Regardless of your opinions regarding Jamiroquai's music (and frontman Jay Kay's unfortunate fondness for wearing headdresses), there's no question that "Virtual Insanity" is one of the most iconic videos from the '90s. Now, perhaps inevitably, that video has been turned into a videogame.

As you likely remember, the clip for this funky, noodle-fuelled pop jam shows Jay Kay dodging couches while dancing around a room with a moving floor. Naturally, Jamiroquai Game plays off the same concept — only with way more couches — as players control the singer's movements and navigate the room. If you get hit by the furniture, you die; the longer you survive, the higher your score.

It was released earlier this month and is available for free at Game Jolt. It's only available on Windows, which is a shame since this would be great as a mobile app. The accompanying instrumental soundtrack is a knock-off of "Virtual Insanity."

Below, watch a trailer for the game plus the original video.

If you've got Windows, get in on the virtual insanity of Jamiroquai Game right here. We're not entirely sure of the legality of this, so you might want to act fast.
