The Pogues' "Fairytale of New York" is one of the best non-traditional Christmas songs around, and now it's gotten a brand new cover version courtesy of a star-studded cast of rootsy collaborators.

Iron & Wine, Kathleen Edwards, the Swell Season's Glen Hansard and Calexico all teamed up to perform the tune on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night (December 11). Iron & Wine main man Sam Beam and Edwards split the duet vocals, while the latter also played violin. Hansard contributed harmonies and mandolin, while Calexico were the backing band. It's a faithful rendition of the fantastic tune.

All these artists performed on WFUV's Holiday Cheer concert in New York earlier this week.
