Vancouver, BC-based indie rockers In Medias Res have spent years proving themselves, dropping two studio releases and embarking upon national tours. Now, they will reach out to a much wider audience with the release of It Was Warm and Sunny When We First Set Out, their first album for File Under: Music/Outside Music. To hear what's in store, you can stream of the entire record now.

The album was recorded with Vancouver producer Jonathan Anderson (Aidan Knight, Radiogram), alongside the team of Dave Carswell and John Collins (Tegan and Sara, the New Pornographers, Destroyer) to achieve a top-notch final product that finally captures the group's full live sound on record.

In its track descriptions, a press release utilizes phrases like "carefully crafted," "unholy squall" and "sweetly melodic" while emphasizing "the band's strengths of creativity, diversity and the rare gift of sounding more than the sum of its parts."

It Was Warm and Sunny When We First Set Out will arrive on July 12, but listen to it now below.

In addition, In Medias Res will play their official record release show at Vancouver's Biltmore on July 16.
