Imaginary Cities Release 'Seasides' EP, Share New Video

Having scored some sweet opening spots in the last couple of years, Winnipeg pop rockers Imaginary Cities are spending the summer touring North America as headliners. They've also found time to prep some new goodies as well, including a new EP and a music video.

The EP is called Seasides, and the three-track release was put out this past Tuesday (July 10) on iTunes via Hidden Pony Records/Shock Records.

Two of the songs included are acoustic versions of tunes from last year's Temporary Resident album. The reworks were recorded at a Nashville studio with core band members Marti Sarbit and Rusty Matyas gathered around a single microphone back in the fall of 2011. The remaining song is a cover of Cake's "Mexico" that was recorded at the band's Winnipeg practice space.

See the tracklist below and stream all of Seasides below. Also, you can purchase the EP here on iTunes.

At the bottom of the page is also a video for the low-key Temporary Resident standout "Purple Heart." The clip, directed by Tilman Singer, for this electro-inflected tune is appropriately star-dazzled and was shot in Germany.

Imaginary Cities' upcoming tour schedule is also below. Once these dates are complete, the band will head into the studio this fall to record their sophomore album.
