Hail of Bullets

Warsaw Rising

Dutch death thrashers Hail Of Bullets do it old school, with solid, down-tuned heaviness and fast, chugging riffs. The band are made up of former Bolt Thrower/Pestilence/Asphyx vocalist Martin van Drunen, ex-Houwitser bassist Theo van Eekelen, Gorefest drummer Ed Warby and Thanatos guitarists Paul Baayens and Stephan Gebédi. Highly influenced by Eastern European thrash, as well as traditional death metal bands like Autopsy, Death and Celtic Frost, HoB have released a six-track EP full of catchy head-bangers, including three live recordings. Warsaw Rising comes a year after their crushing World War II battle-themed ...Of Frost and War, starting with a blitzkrieg assault of extreme drumming, crunching guitars and catchy rhythms on the title-track. "Liberators" features melodious leads that transition to intense riffage, while HoB's Twisted Sister cover, "Destroyer," contains thrash metal's iconic raw-sounding guitars, a lot of crunch and raspy vocals that are a refreshing break from the typical death gutturals.
