Grounders

"No Ringer"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 23, 2015

Last leaving us with the Garfield-starring "Pull It Over Me" video, Toronto outfit Grounders have now shifted the spotlight onto magnificently seasick sax playing in their latest single, "No Ringer."

Taken from the band's upcoming self-titled LP, the track is a gorgeous slice of psych-tinged indie rock submerging us in watery vocal effects, sea foam-thick synth tones, and that fabulously wonky woodwind. It gives off a feeling not unlike looking at the sun sparkling through the waves while you're wading underwater. It also sounds like a long-lost Deerhunter track, which is hardly a bad thing, right?

You can stream "No Ringer" below.

Grounders comes out May 12 through Nevado Records, and will be supported shortly thereafter with a handful of North American festival and club dates.
