Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor spends his extracurricular time well, releasing solo music with CANT, running the Terrible Records imprint and cooking for his friends at frequent dinner parties. The last of those pursuits will now be documented in a new book.
Two years ago, Taylor told Spin that he was planning to write a cookbook. In his quote, he explained his plan for the project. Read the statement in full below:
It doesn't have a title yet, but at the moment it's 20 dinners, fully coursed, all seasonally relevant. I think a lot of people open a cookbook and they're like, "Where do I start?" And this is just like: "Make this dinner." It's making cooking approachable for people in a different way. I love throwing dinner parties. I used to have a fire pit until I got the cops called on me.
Now, the fan site Grizzly Bear Galore has gotten the scoop on the release.
The book is called Twenty Dinners and, well, offers more than that, with a reported 100 recipes, photographs of dinner parties and detailed notes on wine, drink mixes, desserts and coffee. It was written by Taylor with Ithai Schori and Rachael Holtzman.
Random House will issue Twenty Dinners on April 7.
