Thought that Jason Lytle's forthcoming solo LP meant that the frontman wouldn't be reconvening with Grandaddy anytime soon? Think again. The California indie rock group have confirmed that they'll be reuniting for a series of shows this year.
The band will be headlining one night of the End of the Road Festival in Wilshire, UK, which runs from August 31 to September 2. They will play on the Saturday, September 1.
According to the festival website, Grandaddy will be playing a "limited run of shows this year," so it looks like more announcements are on the way. The End of the Road appearance is a "UK festival exclusive," so if that's to be believed, don't expect the band to book any more big shows in Great Britain. Hopefully some North American dates will be forthcoming.
This doesn't come as a total surprise, since Grandaddy reissued three of their albums on vinyl last year, and reunions are a dime a dozen these days.
As for Lytle's solo album, it's called Department of Disappearance and is expected sometime this summer.
