Kanye West has brought in some hometown talent for his ever-growing G.O.O.D. Music label, with the imprint announcing today (March 4) that it has signed producer/rapper Holt.
The news arrived this morning with label confirming it had inked a deal with the artist, who formerly went by the name of Hollywood Holt. The specifics of his label debut have yet to be revealed, but Holt is expected to issue new music through G.O.O.D. later this year. A subsequent tweet from Holt suggests he's been itching to release some new material.
Holt has ties to the G.O.O.D. Music team already, having performed on a SXSW showcase for the imprint in 2014. He had also produced Beyonce and André 3000's melted synth revamp of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" that was featured on the soundtrack for The Great Gatsby.
Holt is part of Chicago's Treated Crew, which includes Kanye West's former DJ Mano, Mic Terror, Sulaiman, Gzus Piece and more.
As Hollywood Holt, he issued his These Are the Songs That Didn't Make the Album but Are Still Cold as Hell So Shut the F*** Up Vol. 1 in 2010. The set featured guest work from Rockie Fresh, Mano, Drea, Mikkey Halsted and more. You'll find a stream of the freelease down below.
