Gojira Treats 'From Mars to Sirius' and 'The Way of All Flesh' to Vinyl Reissues

Just exactly when French metal monsters Gojira will give us their follow-up to last year's oppressive L'Enfant Sauvage is anyone's guess, but the band will soon issue a couple of vinyl reissues to keep us happy in the meantime.

A press release confirms that Prosthetic Records is offering up deluxe gatefold editions of the progressive death metal troupe's From Mars to Sirius and The Way of All Flesh, which the imprint will put into stores August 27.

Originally released overseas in 2005 and in North America in 2006, From Mars to Sirius was praised by Exclaim! over its "solid death/thrash" influence and a diverse song cycle that tipped its hat to everyone from Morbid Angel and Meshuggah, to King Crimson and Killing Joke. The repress will be served up on three different colours of vinyl: "Eco-Green" (600 copies), "Mars Red" (200 copies) and "Sea Blue" (200 copies). This is the first North American vinyl pressing of the LP.

The Way of All Flesh from 2008 cracked the Billboard 200 upon its release and features guest vocals from Lamb of God's Randy Blythe. At the time, Exclaim! noted that the LP "offers well-crafted prog death paeans with enough technical flourishes to keep a government think tank busy for months." The record has apparently been out of print on vinyl for the last three years, and will be available on clear vinyl, as well as on blue/white wax.
