'God Bless Ozzy Osbourne' Documentary Headed for DVD

It's been a while since we heard anything about the proposed biopic on Ozzy Osbourne, but metal fans can still find some onscreen solace with news of a home release for the God Bless Ozzy Osbourne documentary.

The film, which has been screened a few times this year, will be released November 15 on Blu-ray and DVD via Eagle Rock Entertainment. The movie is described in a press release as "an unrivalled look into the mind of legendary rock icon Ozzy Osbourne," as presented by the singer's son, Jack Osbourne.

Alongside directors Mike Fleiss and Mike Piscitelli, Jack grills his dad about his past, with Ozzy dishing on "his troubled youth, his early career with Black Sabbath and the impact of fame and addictions on his first marriage."

The picture does make an upswing, however, as it covers the positivity in his life, too, outlining how the singer eventually sobered up after his drug dependency "grew to a frightening level."

On top of the personal stuff, the film also features a host of live clips taken from all over the world, as well as backstage footage. Bonus features include outtakes and a Q&A between Jack and Ozzy.

God Bless Ozzy Osbourne will receive a one-night-only theatrical screening at participating theatres across Canada on October 26. Info on the screenings has yet to be revealed.
