In the early 1990s, Glen Hansard toured with his renowned rock'n'roll band the Frames, then spent the next decade travelling as part of the folksy duo the Swell Season. These days, he is preparing to take the road alone.
The troubadour has mapped out an international tour to support his second full-length solo record, Didn't He Ramble, which will be released on September 18. Hansard performed the album's leading track, "Winning Streak," on a recent episode of Exclaim! TV, and now we're revealing more footage from the exclusive session.
Sitting on an overturned cinderblock in the alleyway, Hansard delivered a vulnerable rendition of "Her Mercy." Although the setting was sparse and the melody was stripped down to gentle strumming, Hansard's crooning was captivating. Watch the intimate session in the player below.
