The Get Up Kids Extend 20th Anniversary Tour, Add Canadian Dates

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 2, 2015

Following their recent run of West Coast anniversary dates, reunited Kansas City crew the Get Up Kids have announced an Eastern leg of dates to celebrate their 20 years in the emo-pop game.

The recently revealed tour schedule finds the quintet hopping back in the van by the end of November, travelling across parts of the U.S. and Canada. For the up-north appearances, they'll be stopping at Toronto's Phoenix Concert Theatre on December 5 and hitting Montreal's Theatre Fairmount the next night.

You'll find the latest leg of dates, which find the Kids supported by Into It.Over It. and Rozwell Kid, down below.

The Get Up Kids formed in 1995, with guitarists Matthew Pryor and Jim Suptic and bassist Rob Pope (Spoon) first being joined by drummer Thomas Becker. Ryan Pope would cement his place behind the kit in 1996, and keyboardist James Dewees (Coalesce) joined the band by the time they issued 1999 sophomore set Something to Write Home About.

They broke up in 2005 but got back together a few years later. The lineup continues as such to this day.

The Get Up Kids' last full-length release was 2011's There Are Rules.
