Back in November, synth-loving outfit Games were being forced to change their name. While an exact reason wasn't given, the duo of Daniel Lopatin (aka Oneohtrix Point Never) and Joel Ford called the legal debacle a "Shwagy situation." After a couple months of careful thought, the band have a new name, and it must have taken them ages to figure this one out. They will now go by Ford & Lopatin.
To celebrate the occasion, the group have not only announced a full-length follow-up to last year's stellar That We Can Play EP, but their very own imprint, which will release the record. The label is called Software, an offshoot of Brooklyn label Mexican Summer (Best Coast, Nite Jewel). However, neither a title nor a release date exists for the troupe's impending album.
Other planned releases on Software include records by Ford's Airbird project and Lopatin's Oneohtrix Point Never, as well as releases from Demdike Stare, Autre Ne Veut, Guillermo Herren (aka Prefuse 73) and Megafortress.
