Gallows Return with New 7-inch, Share "Chains"

It's been close to two years since UK hardcore titans Gallows delivered their self-titled LP, and the band have now announced they'll be following up their first full-length with ex-Alexisonfire member Wade MacNeil on vocals with a two-song single.

A press release confirms that the band's recently premiered "Chains" will sit on the A-side of a new 7-inch, due to be released June 30 through the group's own Venn Records. Down below, you can stream the song, which starts off slow and gloomily before exploding into demolishing drum hits and morose, detuned riffs.

"The song 'Chains' came together really quickly," guitarist Laurent Barnard said in a statement. "It started off with one riff and by the end of the day it was recorded. We did it all live too like we were making a garage punk record. My friend Helena [Coan] who sings in a great band called Dios Mio happened to be in the studio that day so she came in and added some vocals and textures, which brought a very haunting element to the track. It's very different but still very dark which is what Gallows is all about."

The single was recorded this past February, following what the band described as "a quiet year so far for us all," and features new tune "Wristslitter" on the B-side. The single is the first material to come from Gallows since the departure of guitarist Steph Carter in 2013.

Along with the new 7-inch, the band have lined up a summer tour in the UK and Europe. You can see all those dates here.
