Boston-based lo-fi indie pop unit Funeral Advantage are gearing up to release a split EP with Former Ghosts, but before the collaborative set arrives on April 14 via the Native Sound, Exclaim! has got the premiere of Funeral Advantage's brand new track "I Know Him."
The brainchild of Tyler Kershaw, Funeral Advantage started as a bedroom project back in 2013, but has evolved into a full-fledged touring band. Their next release is the aforementioned four-song EP, which also features the final two songs from Former Ghosts before their bandleader Freddy Ruppert puts the project to sleep.
Ruppert roped in guests Yasmine Kittles (Tearist) and Nika Roza Danilova (Zola Jesus) for the Former Ghosts tracks that fill the first half of the EP, while Kershaw takes the reins on the latter two tracks.
"I Know Him" is a jangly, swirling guitar pop number, featuring hazy back-and-forth male and female vocals awash in layers of echoing reverb. You'll be able to catch the band recreate the swoon-worthy sounds live on their upcoming North American tour dates, which are listed below.
