Flying Lotus Planning Remix of Radiohead's 'King of Limbs'

Following the release of The King of Limbs earlier this year, Radiohead have had no shortage of fun with the content, from lining up live performances on Nigel Godrich's Live From the Basement to releasing their deluxe newspaper. Now, it looks as though the album will also inspire a batch of remixes from L.A. beat destroyer Flying Lotus.

Radiohead fansite The King of Limbs Part 2 points to an interview that FlyLo did with the Colorado Springs Independent, where he revealed plans to remix the entire Radiohead album. After discussing his collaborative friendship with Thom Yorke, the DJ said, "They wanted me to remix the new Radiohead record, and I've been trying to mess with that a little bit. But I haven't gotten to it yet."

Then, when asked how the album would sound, Flying Lotus said, "It's too early to say, man. I have no fucking clue. It's difficult to work with, because the pieces that they gave me, there's no real a cappella. It's like piano and voice at the same time... So I have to come up with some shit that's a little similar to the record, I guess, to an extent."

Obviously things remain quite tentative at this point, but Flying Lotus's messed-up beats might be the kick in the pants that some of the slower moments on The King of Limbs needed.

UPDATE: Stones Throw has also uploaded the label's new podcast, which features a mix by none other than Flying Lotus. You can download it here.
