The Field's Axel Willner Announces Debut LP as Hands

Though most well-known for his work as the Field, Swedish electronic artist/producer Axel Willner has announced he'll put the focus on a new noise project called Hands in the new year.

The side-project's full-length debut, The Soul Is Quick, drops February 10 through Kompakt side-label Ecstatic and is described in a press release as featuring "four tracks of plaintive devastation" across its 41-minute run time.

Willner wrote and produced the material between March and April 2012 at Berlin's Garmonbozia Studios. It's further explained that the release is kind of bleak, with "disintegrating synth melodies drifting over skittering percussion and whispered intonations."

The Soul Is Quick is a protest record for when you've had enough of how the world works," Willner described rather grimly in a statement. "When you find yourself taking inspiration from human decay rather then brighter things."

Pre-orders for a limited edition run of 550 copies on red vinyl are being taken now over here.

Earlier this fall, Willner issued the Field's Cupid's Head LP.
