Father John Misty

"Blank Space" (Taylor Swift cover)

Ryan Adams just covered Taylor Swift's entire 1989 album, and now Father John Misty has taken the idea one step further by covering Ryan Adams' version of "Blank Space."

While Adams' cover seemed like a sincere tribute to Swift, Misty's rendition appears to be an act of trolling. Outside of the lyrics, this doesn't bear much resemblance to the original version of "Blank Space"; rather, it's a spot-on knock-off of Lou Reed's half-spoken drawl, and even the accompanying artwork recreates the cover of the Velvets' 1967 album with Nico.

Misty wrote on SoundCloud, "My reinterpretation of the classic Ryan Adams album '1989.'" Hear it below.
