Fall Out Boy Return with 'Save Rock and Roll,' Unveil New Single

BY Alex HudsonPublished Feb 4, 2013

After Fall Out Boy went on hiatus in 2009, frontman Patrick Stump went solo and subsequently complained that he had become "like the awkward adult husk of a discarded once-cute child actor." Now, he's getting ready to take another shot at success, since the band have reunited for a new album.

Fall Out Boy's new album is called Save Rock and Roll and it will be out on May 7 through Island Records. The band's new single, "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)," comes out tomorrow (February 5) on iTunes. Watch the 2 Chainz-featuring music video for that track at the bottom of this page.

UPDATE: The album is now due out April 16.

A statement from Fall Out Boy reads:

When we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music. It's why we started Fall Out Boy in the first place. This isn't a reunion because we never broke up. We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us.

The future of Fall Out Boy starts now.
