As part of Gooseberry Records' ongoing Can-rock tribute series, the label has announced the details of its upcoming Eric's Trip comp, Songs for Eric: A Tribute to Eric's Trip.
The collection in honour of the lo-fi trailblazers and Exclaim!'s current timeline stars features 33 Eric's Trip tunes taken on by several indebted Canadian acts, including Shotgun Jimmie, Dog Day, Laura Borealis, Olympic Stadium, Bananapants and a whole swak of others.
As previously reported, Gooseberry gave similar tribute-album treatment to fellow East coast heroes Thrush Hermit last year and plans to do the same for the Super Friendz next month and a bit later on for Sloan.
Songs for Eric, as well as Rescued From Boredom: A Tribute to the Super Firendz, will be out digitally and as a double CD in mid- to late April, and you can get all the order details over here. Also, if you're in band and would like to contribute to the forthcoming Sloan tribute, Gooseberry says get in touch. The label is currently looking for submissions.
