Enon, Blonde Redhead and St. Vincent Collaborator Toko Yasuda Announces Debut Album as PLVS VLTRA

BY Josiah HughesPublished May 8, 2012

After serving as one of Enon's core members and working with groups like Blonde Redhead and St. Vincent, veteran performer Toko Yasuda is ready to step out on her own with a solo album. Performing as PLVS VLTRA, she has just announced the project's debut album Parthenon, which will arrive via the ever-consistent Editions Mego sub-label Spectrum Spools.

According to a press release, "Parthenon is a sugar-sweet album of catchy pop songs, crafted with expert precision and outstanding composition logic. Everything is locked in in a way that seems at once like clockwork, and also somehow very free... 'Pop' is a word abused to catch-all, and like any great, well-thought album, Parthenon refuses to be pinned down. Here is your summer jam! Enjoy!"

Whether or not this is actually your summer dream will be seen when Spectrum Spools releases Parthenon on June 19. For now, album opener "Flowers to Bees" can be streamed below.

Parthenon:

1. Flowers to Bees
2. The Level
3. Sweet Tooth
4. Yume
5. Parthenon
6. World in Words
7. Fender Benderz
8. Like Spice
9. Sunkissed
10. Birthday Party
11. Closer
