Emika Announces 'DVA,' Covers Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 14, 2013

Two years after Emika dropped her self-titled debut, the Brit-born, Berlin-based producer has announced her return. Her sophomore set DVA hits retailers June 10 through Ninja Tune.

A press release describes DVA as a 15-song collection of "dark dub pop" that finds Emika stepping up the production skills she showcased on her debut. The first sneak peek of the album comes in the form of a cover of Chris Isaak's haunting signature cut "Wicked Game" that is said to retain the "introspective atmosphere" of the original while pumping it up with "deep dub textures, addictive drums and fragile, echoing melody." You can download the song for the price of an email address over here.

Emika has also announced she'll be taking part in this year's MUTEK festival, which will have her in Montreal on June 1. You can check out the rest of her upcoming schedule beneath DVA's tracklisting.
