On their second album, last year's Wild and Inside, Portland, OR's Eat Skull continued their evolution from noisy lo-fi to jangly indie pop. Now, the band have signed with Woodsist, and are planning a new single and album. And from the looks of it, they've become a full-fledged mid-fi garage pop unit.
According to a press release, Eat Skull will kick off their Woodsist relationship with a new seven-inch called Jerusalem Mall. The title track is "newer Christmas time jingle for these hopeful times," and is backed with "Don't Leave Me on the Speaker" and "Thank You Smoke Break," two outtakes from the band's first album.
"Don't Leave Me On the Speaker," the band's most fully fleshed pop song to date, can be heard here. The Jerusalem Mall seven-inch is due January 26.
