The Earlies Return with 'Message from Home' EP, Share New Track

Remember the Earlies? The transcontinental psych-rock band have been inactive for many years, and they haven't released any new music since 2007's sophomore effort The Enemy Chorus. That will finally change with the release of a new EP called Message from Home.

It isn't exactly clear when Message from Home will arrive, but it's expected out this summer. In the meantime, the Earlies have shared "Abandon," a slow-moving cross between spooky psych and balladic soul. Hear that song at the bottom of this page.

The band's membership is split between England and Texas, so they pieced together the EP remotely from their own studios on either side of the Atlantic.

In regards to this return after eight years, band member Christian Madden said in a statement, "We're going for a less conventional but nonetheless poignant eleven year anniversary. We had planned to get together to mark the ten year anniversary of the album but we're a slow moving entity."

The Earlies will be playing a few shows next month in the UK. There's no word as to whether they will be coming to North America anytime soon.

07/25 Lancashire, UK - Cloudspotting Festival
