The Dirty Nil Sign to Dine Alone for Debut LP, Map Out Fall Tour

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Aug 6, 2015

Hamilton, ON-based rock'n'rollers the Dirty Nil have been cutting their teeth with a series of 7-inch singles, mixtapes, EPs and relentless touring over the past few years and Dine Alone Records has taken notice. The Toronto-based label has signed the band and will be putting out their debut full-length next year.

The forthcoming album is currently in the mixing stage, which is being manned by John Goodmanson (Sleater-Kinney, Death Cab for Cutie).

Before the LP arrives, though, Dine Alone will be releasing the Dirty Nil's latest 7-inch single for "No Weaknesses" / "Provisional." A press release notes that the new A-side packs a walloping punch of "violent fuzz and pure anthemic catharsis," delivered through "a combination of unhinged punk rock noise and stick-in-your-head pop melodies." The flip side features the band's take on a Fugazi classic.

"Four-ish years ago, Max from The Arkells told me to check out some videos of The Dirty Nil playing amazing covers in their basement and quickly became a fan," said Dine Alone boss Joel Carriere in a statement. "Following these guys for the past four years has been a lot of fun and now we finally get to work with them to bring their music to the masses. Anyone who can cover Fugazi and not fuck it up is in our good books."

The 7-inch single will arrive in November, but they'll be out on tour before then. You can see the full list of dates below.
