Music industry mogul Diddy is currently in police custody after being arrested for allegedly assaulting a UCLA football coach earlier this afternoon (June 22).

TMZ reports that Diddy (a.k.a. Sean Combs) was on the California campus' Acosta Athletic Training Complex, watching his son Justin's football practice. Allegedly, the paternal Combs took issue with assistant coach Sal Alosi, who was reportedly screaming at Combs' son during a Bruins strength and conditioning session. A source on the scene noted that the coach in question "was riding Justin, screaming intensely at him."

After practice, Diddy apparently entered the coach's office, leading to a confrontation. Law enforcement sources say that the rapper attacked the man with a kettlebell weight, which led to his arrest under a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon. According to a statement from UCLA, no one was seriously injured. The rapper/producer remains in campus custody, and is expected to be transferred to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Inmate Reception Center later this evening.

In a statement, UCLA football's head coach Jim Mora called today's confrontation an "unfortunate incident for all parties involved," and that the institution "will let the legal process run its course."
