Close to four years after calling it quits, Montreal death metal favourites Despised Icon have announced they're getting back together to play a handful of reunion shows.
The band confirmed their return in a press release, noting that while they currently have no plans to make a new album, they will be heading out on the road to play shows in Europe this April. They are also hinting at North American dates a little further into the future.
"It's been over three years already since we played our last shows and long story short, we genuinely miss it. After a few talks and a couple of beers, we decided to get back together temporarily to play a handful of shows," vocalist Alex Erian said in a statement, adding, "Can't wait to see you all and crush the stage, one more time. Keep it brutal."
A video message was also recorded, and it has the band further explaining that U.S. and Canadian fans can likely expect a few festival appearances as well. Before the details arrive, you can check out both the video and Despised Icon's currently confirmed show schedule down below.
Despised Icon had announced their initial split back in April 2010, citing a desire to move on and focus on "starting families, buying houses and pursuing other careers." Their last LP was 2009's Day of Mourning.
Tour dates:
04/25 Vienna, AT - Impericon Festival
04/27 Manchester, UK - Impericon Festival
04/30 Koln, DE - Impericon Festival
