Death From Above 1979 Get Festive with Their Own Ugly Christmas Sweater

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 28, 2013

Just yesterday (November 27), we learned that Queens of the Stone of the Stone Age are supplying some Christmas cheer this season via their reindeer games-displaying Christmas sweater. In case you were hoping for a more CanCon-oriented display of seasonal tackiness, former tourmates Death from Above 1979 have revealed they've also jumped into the ugly sweater game.

As you can see up above, the ultra-distorted rock-pop duo have affixed their familiar elephant trunk logo onto a crewneck sporting snowflakes, maple leaves, a few hearts and other assorted cheery shapes. And while it's more an ugly Christmas sweatshirt than sweater, the seasonally specific clothing item will pair well with a mug of eggnog and a fuzz bass-powered carol or two.

You can head here to pick up Death From Above 1979's festive clothing item, which will begin shipping out on December 4.

In other news, the duo have a Boxing Day show coming up in Toronto and are apparently still working on a proper follow-up to their lone full-length, 2004's You're a Woman, I'm a Machine.

"I don't know when the record will be done, so I can't really speak specifically on details in that regard," Sebastien Grainger told Exclaim! earlier this fall. "We're still working on the material... it'll be done when it's done. It could be in three weeks, it could be three months."
