Ten years after the release of You're A Woman, I'm A Machine, Jesse F. Keeler and Sebastien Grainger took to the stage and launched into their powerhouse set, dispelling all notions of having slowed down during their time off. Each note was a punch to the face; Keeler channeled his rock star bravado in the form of bass-wielding power stances, as Grainger sung "I want it all/ Can't get enough." While the majority of the crowd was rather quiet and immobile, a small portion near the front of the stage launched into a full-on mosh pit, smothering the poor, oblivious families who had made their way to the front of the stage to get a better view.
Halfway through the set Grainger told the (mostly) Quebecois crowd the story of how he came to Laval for poutine and bowling after the death of his grandfather, joking that Laval was good for that and not much else. Ending with both members walking off the stage to a fuzzed-out drone, DFA made sure to leave their mark, at least for the next ten years.
