The Dears Return with 'Times Infinity Volume One'

The Dears haven't released an album since 2011's Degeneration Street, with frontman Murray Lightburn subsequently moving on to record a 2013 solo LP called MASS:LIGHT. Now, the Dears have returned with a new album called Times Infinity Volume One. It's due out on September 25 through Pheromone Recordings/Dangerbird Records.

The dramatic Montreal indie rock band wrote the album over a two-year period; sessions took place in the summer of 2014 and the spring of 2015 at Toronto's Revolution Recording and Montreal's Hotel2Tango.

Lightburn said in a statement, "When you start a band, you never think of the end. When we began work on this album, it was a process that consumed us completely, harkening back to our earliest days. In turn, the record became about sentimentality but in the face of great uncertainty; the concept of eternal love and all its fragility."

This album was made to commemorate the Dears' 20th anniversary, since they formed in 1995. They plan to follow it up with Times Infinity Volume Two in 2016 and head out on tour this fall.
