Dead Can Dance Title Upcoming Album, Release New Song

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jun 25, 2012

As previously reported, world music veterans Dead Can Dance will return this year with a new album, which has now been named Anastasis.

The record is slated to arrive on August 9 and marks the first effort from Dead Can Dance since 1996's Spiritchaser.

As Pitchfork notes, the band commented on the album title, explaining that it is "a Greek word that roughly translates as 'rebirth' or 'resurrection', which we felt was a suitable title for our reunion."

Original core members Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard are leading the band's resurrection and you can listen to the first taste of their new material now. In exchange for an email address, you can download the brand new track "Amnesia," which will appear on the forthcoming record. Scroll to the bottom of the page to get your free download.
