DAVIDS

"Right On" (video)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Mar 27, 2015

Toronto-based electro project DAVIDS released their debut EP 0613EP back in 2013, spawning the previously seen clip for "Iranians." And while the group are currently readying a new EP, they've offered up a new video for 0613EP cut "Right On" to help ease the wait.

Describing themselves as "the Archie Bunker of electronic music" and enlisting Cayuga, ON metal band Apocryphal Avulsion to take their spot on camera, DAVIDS leave a lot to the imagination. But just because DAVIDS don't appear onscreen, it doesn't mean the video's not worth a look.

Directed by fellow caps lock fiend DIVORCE and edited by Prism Prize winner Christopher Mills, the clip opens with a warning of "strobing, black frames, starts and stops, pretend violence and gore" and delivers on its promise. Beyond the flashy effects, we get performance footage of the aforementioned Apocryphal Avulsion juxtaposed with spooky forest scenes featuring cloaked men hunting a gothic Lady Gaga lookalike.

While we await details of DAVIDS' upcoming EP, watch the gruesome action go down in Exclaim!'s exclusive video premiere of "Right On" below.
