David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's concept album about former Philippine first lady Imelda Marcos, entitled Here Lies Love, has been performed as far back at 2006. The record was released commercially in 2010, and now it will be getting another physical release to go along with the latest iteration of the project.

Starting this spring, a theatrical version of Here Lies Love will come to the Public Theater in New York. Directed by Alex Timbers, previews begin on April 2 March 24 and opening night is March 31. The run is open-ended.

A synopsis describes this "immersive theatrical event" like this: "Set within a dance club atmosphere, audiences will stand and move with the actors. Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended. Dancing is encouraged."

While the new album has yet to secure a firm release date, Byrne and Nonesuch Records will jointly release a cast album to go along with the performance in time for the New York opening. According to a statement from Byrne, "It doesn't sound like any cast album you've ever heard, with seven new songs since the last iteration of this project."

This will include two CDs and a 52-page booklet. The cover artwork is above.
