Data Romance Prep Debut Album for Dine Alone Records, Share Lead Single

Having recently scored an opening slot on Dragonette's Canadian fall tour, Victoria, BC-based duo Data Romance are gearing up to release their debut album. Entitled Other, it will arrive on February 19 through Dine Alone Records/SQE Music.

A press release notes that the band's electro-kissed sound is inspired by "Trent Reznor's brooding dirges and Björk's guarded beauty, Bat for Lashes' glacial heartbreak and Portishead's nihilistic thud." The album is said to include everything from "steady low-end pulse and chamber echoes" to "warm electro-pop" and "EDM dub-stutters."

While the album release is still a few months away, the band are giving fans a taste of what's in store via the album track "Caves," which you can listen to below. It begins with a sweetly serene wash of synth strings before the beat enters at around the one-minute mark and takes off.

"Caves" will also be released as an iTunes remix bundle, featuring three reworks courtesy of Phon.o. MMOTHS and Benjamin Damage.
