While Darwin Deez' self-titled 2010 debut showcased a love for melodic, Strokes-style tunes, there's more to Brooklyn-based musician than just angular guitar rock. A newly released mixtape, titled Wonky Beats, veers the artist way into left field, trading spiky six string licks for goofball hip-hop.
The sometimes indie-rocker is offering up the collection for free, but not without a little work. You can obtain the Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory-sampling set -- the album is composed entirely out of music from the '70s film -- by posting one of Darwin Deez' music videos on your Facebook page, taking a screenshot of your post and sending it his band's way.
As an added bonus, and to further the Wonka-centric project, five lucky downloaders will receive a golden ticket with their zip of the record. The prize winners will receive a lifetime supply of Darwin Deez music and tickets to their shows whenever they hit your town. Sounds like a win-win situation to us.
