The Darkness Announce Winter North American Tour, Play Toronto

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 7, 2012

While the Darkness's recent reunion set Hot Cakes displayed the same kind of cheeky, '70s-tinged arena rock jams as their older material, we noted that "too many of its songs feel like toss-offs and half-formed ideas." The UK band will still see if the cuts can stack up to their oldies in concert, though, as they've just announced a swell of North American dates as part of their "Let Them Eat Cakes" world tour.

The trip brings the ball-binding sound of squeaky singer Justin Hawkins and co. to our side of the pond early next year, with the band landing in Fort Lauderdale, FL, for the tour opener. The 16-show stretch has a healthy smattering of U.S. performances lined up, but there is one Canadian date to look forward to. Toronto fans can worship the over-the-top crotch-rockers January 21 at the Phoenix.

You can peep the rest of the North American details down below and head here for the international dates of the tour.
