Danny Brown Guesting on Next Avalanches LP

Danny Brown Guesting on Next Avalanches LP
Sound collagists the Avalanches have yet to properly announce their long-in-the-works follow-up to 2001's Since I Left You, but news has come that the Australian outfit have roped in yet another guest star for the project, much-buzzed about rapper Danny Brown.

The helium-voiced MC recently revealed that he will pop up on the as-yet-untitled platter for a track called "Frank Sinatra." While the Avalanches have cultivated a cult following over the years, the band were relatively unknown to Brown prior to being attached to the project.

"They [the Avalanches] contacted my manager," Brown explained to Pitchfork. "I knew of them, but I can't say I was that deep into their music. But I went back and studied it, and it's just amazing. I am ecstatic about that shit."

"Frank Sinatra" reportedly features Brown spitting throughout the whole track atop a bunch of looped and layered samples, as per the Avalanches' M.O. The collaboration was done over email.

Though a title, release date and tracklisting have not been revealed for the Avalanches LP, other guests include Black Bananas' Jennifer Herrema and Ariel Pink. When the album arrives, it will be issued by Modular Recordings.
