Daniel Blumberg Leaves Yuck

Nineties alt-rock-leaning UK crew Yuck haven't properly announced a follow-up to their acclaimed self-titled 2011 debut, but it's been revealed that whatever it may be, it won't feature frontman/guitarist Daniel Blumberg. The band just announced that the singer has left the fold.

A Facebook message from the rest of the group— guitarist Max Bloom, bassist Mariko Doi and drummer Jonny Rogoff — notes that they are heading to New York later this week to work on a sophomore LP, but they won't be joined by Blumberg as "he's decided to focus on other things."

Blumberg hasn't issued a statement on the matter yet, but this could mean he'll be making his Oupa project his priority from now on.

It's unclear at present if the remaining members of Yuck will be bringing anyone else into the mix, or if they'll proceed as a trio. Either way, the band promise "new music, new tour dates, and bigger afros will be coming very soon."
