Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo Contributes Music to New Film

We've heard that Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo has some solo music in the world, and while we still don't know anything about his rumoured solo album, we now know that the Daft Punk member has written music for the new film Gates of the Sun.

De Homem-Christo's buddy Eric Chedeville, who apparently contributed to the film as well, told Les Rocks [via Harder Blogger Faster/Consequence of Sound] that De Homem-Christo wrote the music for the final scene, which takes place inside of a club.

The piece is reportedly credited to Le Knight Club, which was De Homem-Christo's duo with Chedeville.

We don't know exactly how much of the score De Homem-Christo is responsible for, since Jean-Jacques Ipino and Patrick Matteodo are also listed as contributing composers on IMDB. They apparently made most of the music.

Gates of the Sun is an action movie about an Algerian secret agent setting out to destroy a paramilitary organization. Mike Tyson appears as himself. It premiered at a film festival last year, and it's seeing a limited release in the next couple of months. Plans for a soundtrack haven't been announced.
