The crowd for Cut Copy's DJ set at Bass Camp met the duo with a bit of indifference, slowly filing in at the first hints of fat bass with a generous helping of boisterous funk. Ill-timed smoke machines set at the back of the tent released plumes of obnoxious smoke, effectively smothering those in the back while the front mingled on.

The crowd was less enthralled, and more curious of the uninspired set, using Bass Camp as a midday reprieve from the sun — wandering through, putting a non-committal foot or two forward, before retreating back into the festival grounds. The lack of variation and fluctuation in Cut Copy's hour-long set made it that much easier for those who'd just stumbled in to stumble right back out. Add to that a lack of interaction on any level and you're left with an underwhelming performance.
