Cousins / Construction & Destruction

'Cousins / Construction & Destruction' Split 12-inch (album stream)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jul 22, 2013

In addition to prepping new stand-alone albums, East Coast rock bands Cousins and Construction & Destruction have a split 12-inch due out on July 30 through Noyes Records. Before then, you can stream the whole thing here on Exclaim.ca.

Each band contributed three songs to the six-song 12-inch. Cousins' half is crunchy and minimal, with bullshit-free rock arrangements anchoured by pounding drums and guitar grit. Construction & Destruction's half is similarly stripped down, although it's a little stranger; "Sea Change" features jarring six-string noise and restless rhythmic changes, while the other tunes boast eerie vibes and quirky vocals.

As for those aforementioned albums, Cousins will drop The Halls of Wickwire later in 2013. Construction & Destruction's Dark Lark is out now. See both bands' tour schedules here.
