Grunge vet Courtney Love turns 50 today (July 9), and evidently she's celebrating by joining the cast of Sons of Anarchy. She will appear in a recurring role in the show's upcoming seventh (and final) season.

TVLine reports that the Hole singer will have a multi-episode arc on the FX drama, paying the role of Ms. Harrison. She will be the preschool teacher of main character Jax Teller's son Abel. Her character will debut in the season's fourth episode.

Interestingly, Love isn't the only '90s music star to sign up for the impending season of Sons of Anarchy, since Marilyn Manson was previously confirmed to play white supremacist Ron Tully.

The show centres on an outlaw motorcycle club in California. Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro previously appeared in seasons five and six. The new season will air in September.

All in all, this is good news for fans of Love's past acting roles like The People vs. Larry Flynt and Man on the Moon, but bad news for anyone hoping that Hole would hurry up and reunite already.
