Conor Oberst's Desaparecidos Announce New Album

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 6, 2015

Bright Eyes leader Conor Oberst has reunited with his old punk band Desaparecidos in recent years, and following a few singles, they have now announced their first album in well over a decade. Entitled Payola, it will arrive on June 23 through Epitaph.

The album was co-produced by Mike Mogis and it features Laura Jane Grace of Against Me!, Tim Kasher of Cursive, and So So Glos.

See the tracklist below, and note that it includes six songs that the band have released over the last few years: "MariKKKopa," "Backsell," "Anonymous," "The Left Is Right," "Te Amo Camila Vallejo" and "The Underground Man." Scroll to the bottom of the page to hear the newly unveiled "City on the Hill" [via Pitchfork], which features Oberst snarling about money and the state of modern America.

Also below, see Desaparecidos' tour schedule, although it doesn't include any Canadian shows.

The band initially reunited in 2010. They signed to Epitaph earlier this year and announced plans for an album.
