Comets on Fire

Comets on Fire

BY Roman SokalPublished Sep 1, 2003

The impression Comets on Fire make is as if in the mixing process, someone put the speakers in an underwater cavern and re-recorded this strange and punishing space punk rock to take it to the next level. The sound mixing of this group is certainly the appealing factor to this group. It is as if one is listening to a mix of Acid Mothers Temple, Tricky Woo, Zen Guerilla, Arab on Radar and Led Zeppelin from a thousand miles away in the hottest depths of summer humidity, while Elvis sings on top of it from outer space. This re-release of the group's long-lost out of print debut album (and graced with six bonus tracks) is a gem indeed, and will perfectly accompany those in need of channelling their frayed central nervous systems into something more positive and rewarding.
