A little more than a year on from Cold Specks' album Neuroplasticity, the Ontario singer is revisiting her 2014 album with an eight-minute short film featuring a couple of songs.
The clip features the tracks "Living Signs" and "Old Knives," and the visuals are every bit and emotive and enigmatic as the music. We see what appears to be a search party for a missing person, and we then follow a teen who is consumed with memories of his absent girlfriend. The final moments of the film provide some closure, although it's certainly not the uplifting end some viewers might have hoped for.
It was directed by Young Replicant. Cold Specks songwriter Al Spx told The Fader, "In the studio, I was aggressively determined to construct songs that were wild but still elegant. I wanted to create movement. Listening now, I can hear a sense of urgency in the songs. We didn't want to make another typical music video, so we set out to create something that would stand on its own as a piece of art."
