If you're looking to ring in the new year with great new music, the Class of 2015: A New Year's Evolution of Sound & Talent concert series has got you covered throughout the entire month of January.

Spread across seven shows, the series will showcase some of the best in up-and-coming Canadian music at Toronto's Silver Dollar Room. The first show takes place on January 3 and has Wax Atlantic (featuring members of Major Grange and Zeus), Only Yours (featuring the Great Bloomers' Lowell Sostomi), Fever City and Holy Gasp on the bill.

Other artists slated to perform throughout the month include Calvin Love, Etiquette (Julie Fader and Graham Walsh of Holy Fuck), Crosss, Pet Sun, WHIMM, Nancy Pants and CANYUN.

The series was organized by Toronto promoter Dan Burke, who recruited the help of Jonny Dovercourt (Wavelength Music Series), Dan Seligman (Pop Montreal), James Mejia (Hand Drawn Dracula), Aaron Miller (Arts & Crafts) and Scott Waring (Sleepless Records) to highlight the acts that music fans should be paying attention to.

"It's a very simple idea," said Burke in a press release. "Not that this series needs an additional metaphor, but the indie-rock bandscape is like a jungle: full growth, decay, re-growth, etc. So in the depths of winter — with the help my colleagues — we put together a sort of greenhouse series: a sampling of the most promising new regional growth in our field."

He continued: "If you're unfamiliar with many of the bands, well — that's the whole idea."

In addition to the live performances on January 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 24 and 30, Burke has set up sponsorship with Pinball Sessions, which will see many of the scheduled bands recording sessions with Guelph-based project.
